There’s a lot more space in the Nasser family home following the death of their record-breaking dog Giant George.

The blue Great Dane, was 1.1m (3ft 7in) from paw to shoulders and double that size when on his hind legs.

He died in Tucson, Arizona, just a month before he was due to turn eight.

Announcing his death of Facebook, David and Christie Nasser wrote: ‘It is with a heavy heart that we announce Giant George died last night.

‘George passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

‘We appreciate the love and support you have given him over the last several years.

‘We look forward to honouring his spirit by continuing his charitable works.’

George had gained notoriety after appearing on several talk shows and having a book based on him released.

The giant dog, who had lived with the Nasser family since he was seven weeks old, has already received a number of tributes from his fans on Facebook.
